
Career Highlights
SuChin Pak is a South Korean born TV correspondent, Gen Y journalist and youth advocate. While attending high school in California, SuChin volunteered for the Youth in Government organization and was on the forensics team. After being interviewed on a local TV show for her accomplishments in school, SuChin was sought after to host a teen-based TV show. Majoring in political science at the University of California, Berkeley, SuChin was once again discovered after a PBS producer saw a tape of her. After graduation she hosted a daily half-hour show called Internet Tonight, and was recruited to be a correspondent on other channels, eventually moving to New York to host a TV show for the Oxygen network.
While in New York SuChin was spotted by MTV and soon became an MTV news correspondent. With MTV she covered many award shows, the Sundance Film Festival, hosted her own documentary about multicultural youth, and was correspondent for “MTV Daily News.†SuChin is currently working or the Discovery Channel’s Planet Green, hosting “G Word.â€
SuChin Pak joined ThinkTalk to give some career advice to recent college grads and those looking for work. SuChin gives some detail on the power of networking in your job search, the importance of securing Health Coverage after college and how to properly prepare for an interview. SuChin's successful career serves as a powerful reminder of the advice she gives out during out interview, reminding us that every job she has ever had she has received through networking, as opposed to cold job hunting.
