Ring, Ring...It's for You.

To save time and money these days it is becoming popular among employers to conduct phone interviews to cut down on the large number of applicants they receive. From these phone interviews employers decide which candidates make the cut for an in person interview, so, needless to say, the phone interview is extremely important.

Prepare For a Career In Twittering

Here an interesting tale of the "Twinternship". Alexa Robinson is 22 and spending the summer as an internship for Pizza Hut. She isn't serving up piping hot pies, she's handling the company's Twitter account. From an article in The Big Money:

Robinson beat out hundreds of competitors to secure the paid summer internship at the restaurant headquarters in Dallas. She calls herself "no stranger to social media," with previous internship experience and a degree in mass communication and advertising from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

Interesting indeed. The article does bring up concerns over entrusting what could be considered an important communications task to generally inexperienced interns. Specifically it sites a few examples of how this marketing can go horribly wrong. One thing is clear, however; this is a new direction in the marketing/communications/advertising field. So, next time your parents or professors give you a hard time for spending too much time on Facebook or Twitter, you can just tell them that your "training."
