Take Advantage of Your Youth and Travel

Today, I'm boarding a plane and heading away. Far, far away. Nine thousand miles away, to be exact.

But don't worry, I'll be back!

I'm a twenty something college graduate with an itch to travel. While I absolutely loved college, there is one thing I would've changed of my four years of study. I would've done a semester abroad.

Putting yourself in a foreign country, away from your family, your friends, the life you built, takes you out of comfort zone. I firmly believe entrenching yourself in the unfamiliar is one of the most helpful experiences you could ever have. You learn so much about the new culture. You gain so many amazing memories. And you learn so much about yourself. No one is there to coddle you, or hold your hand when you can't figure out what to do about dinner.

Before you settle down, travel. Go on a whim. Take lots of pictures, immerse yourself in a new culture. You won't regret this when you're old and wrinkly.
