ThinkTalk Guest Update…Go Women!

By Nellie on June 11, 2009

News on Women’s Alice Krause does a superb job when it comes to updating the world on what women professionals are doing. This blog delivers favorable and timely developments on women in varied career fields who are redefining corporate America and the way we work. Alice Krause, in my eyes, is definitely unmatched when it comes to the spectrum of information she blogs on women in the workforce.

So for today, Alison has inspired me to write a little post on what some of our female guests are up to these days:

  • Andrea Nix Fine: Producer, writer, director and production manager of Fine-Films along with her husband, Sean Fine. The husband-and-wife team was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary for War Dance in 2007. According to their website, she is currently co-producer of a new documentary called Resilient. The film will focus on women of courage, featuring Mariane Pearl.

  • Kuwana Haulsey: Journalist and critically acclaimed novelist of The Red Moon and Angel of Harlem. Kuwana is currently working on her third novel, Fracture. I visited her website and found our ThinkTalk interview with her and also found a link to her blog In A Word. Her blog hasn’t been touched since March of last year but she does have two interviews on women I consider pioneers in their field…Tyra Banks and MC Lyte.

  • Nicole Holofcener: Director for TV shows like Sex and the City, Gilmore Girls and Six Feet Under. Her current project is writing and directing for the new film, Please Give. The film is currently in pre-production with sexy and talented actresses, Catherine Keener, Amanda Peet and Rebecca Hall.

  • Irena Salina: Director of the award-winning documentary FLOW: For the Love of Water. Her documentary is getting media buzz and attention in local communities and online. Updates and screenings for this film have been spotted on sites like Canada.com, VillageSoup.com, The Daily Loaf and the Examiner.com. If you haven’t seen the film, you can buy the DVD online.

Here are the Links to sites we like and guests we'd love to invite...

Inc.com Interviews:
Founder of Automattic, Matt Mullenweg.  Didn't know that Automattic was the software behind the popular blogging tool WordPress.  This 25 year-old dishes with Inc.com about his mornings, what he reads, taking lunches and more.  This is someone we would truly like to interview for one of our shows. One day we shall meet Mullenweg, one day.

Shiny Shiny Shares:
With us their fun and geeky find.  Who can resist an RSS shade from Meninos for $70? I love the ladies at Shiny Shiny. They always have the female consumer in mind when it comes to techie, pink and fun gadgets/gifts.

Penelope Trunk, Of Course:
Who can overloook her blog and her most recent startup, Brazen Careerist? She rocks and so does Brazen Careerist! We at ThinkTalk truly enjoy linking to their site for advice on college related info from her staff of young and bold Gen Y writers.

Women On Business Creates:
A strong team of writers who contribute their experiences and advice for those of us who are set on being successful in the business world. Women On Business is owned by Susan Gunelius, President & CEO of KeySplash Creative, Inc. Today's blog that I found useful is called Are The "Shoulds" Getting You Down?
