Hungry, but you have no food or money to go buy food? Parents also on a tight budget due to the economic situation and cannot help you financially?
Yes, at one point in my college career I found myself in that situation and I am pretty sure some of you have too.
Unfortunately, tuition and books have been getting more expensive and the college student budgets even tighter. More college students are eating unhealthier because they can only afford ramen noodles, if that at all due to other important expenses.
But here is a helpful link that will help you if you find yourself in this situation. Each state, whether you are in Alaska or Maine, has a Food Bank in which they help students who need assistance.
Now I know some of you may be embarrassed to go and ask for help, but would you rather be starving or stuck eating ramen noodles? I know at my campus they also supply you with the basic necessities such as toilet paper, toothpaste, deodorant, and such. There is no shame in asking for help if you need it.
BUT!--don't go and abuse the system either; it can benefit those students who are broke and need food.
If you are not in this situation, but would like to help your peers, you can also contribute to your local Food Bank by donating or volunteering at their centers.
Below is the link which shares the location of your nearest Food Bank.
I hope this was helpful. Studying on a full stomach is much better than studying with a growling one.
