Hump Day, Movie Day: Lou Dobbs and Becoming a Journalist

Welcome back to ThinkTalk's Hump Day Movie Day. Every Wednesday we're going to pull a favorite interview from the archives. This week, our feature showing is a Blank Page interview with CNN anchor Lou Dobbs. He joined us from NY to talk about how he got started in journalism, what it means to be an objective reporter and his advice for students entering the field.

Dobbs is a founding member of CNN. After graduating from Harvard with his Bachelors in Economics, he was recruited at the ground level of CNN as the chief economics correspondent. He later managed, edited, and hosted a news program, "Lou Dobbs Reporting," which later became "CNN News Sunday Morning." He served as the anchor and managing editor of CNN’s "Lou Dobbs Tonight" until 2009, when he announced he was leaving the network. Dobbs also hosts nationally syndicated radio show, The Lou Dobbs Financial Report, and he is a regular columnist in Money magazine, U.S. News & World Report and the New York Daily News.
