Whenever the word “Roundup” comes to mind I hear Riders in the Sky's “Woody’s Roundup” song from Pixar's “Toy Story”.

Instead of “Woody’s Roundup” replace it with “ThinkTalk’s Roundup."

Alright, now that we’ve got that out of way let’s get to the nitty gritty of today’s roundup. ThinkTalk offers career advice for college students but through our blog we find links to guide you to sources about some other aspects of your college life. For instance, your health.

The holidays started when we put that first bite-sized Snicker bar into our mouths for Halloween, then we proceeded to stuff ourselves with gluttonous portions of turkey over Thanksgiving break, and now we welcome Christmas calories topping it off with some creamy eggnog. You’ll find the article and the comments made by other college students to be a helpful reminder to not go beyond the call of duty during the consumption fest.

Let College Jolt give you some info on How To Stay Calm During Finals Week: Jessica from Duquesne University gives six tips on how to maximize your hours with little amount of stress giving you study time and “me” time. I usually took tip No.3 “Naps” a little too far. It was more like a Rip Van Winkle nap. Waking up an hour before a Small Groups exam!

For the job seekers out there, Careerrealism.com puts a sarcastic but oh-so-true spin on What That Job Description REALLY Means: Its bad enough the news keeps telling you what company is cutting how many jobs and who’s keeping their jobs thanks to a beefy bailout booster. But for those of you who are moving on and moving up may this article bring a little bit of cheer as you click through and flip through pages and pages of HELP WANTED ads.

And while you’re at it learn a bit more about yourself and what careers may or may not fit you best with J.T. O’Donell’s “Who Are You?” test online: I went ahead and tried it online with my secondary email account. It took less than 2 minutes and the results were insightful and best of all, I checked my email for any spam and found none! See if you’re a Commander, Empathizer, Energizer or Contemplator and hopefully that might help in your search and future job satisfaction.

Want to achieve success or come pretty darn close to it? In author Malcolm Gladwell’s new book “Outliers: The Story of Success” the writer talks about the 10,000 Hour Rule: It takes more than IQ, talent, and good looks to get you to the top. People who have and are enjoying great success have put in 20 hours a week for 10 years into their craft. So think about what you’ve put your time into, is it something you deem as potentially successful?
